Faith & Service
"Be it known to all that Christ is the reason for this school."
This is the greeting that hangs above our main entrance to welcome our guests as they enter our school. It exemplifies why our teachers choose to teach here, why our students decide to learn here, and why our families make sacrifices to send their children to study here.
We recognize the importance of educating the hearts and the minds of our students so they graduate as better students, Christians, and citizens.
Blessed Basil Moreau, the founder of the Congregation of Holy Cross, wrote, "Pedagogy derives from two Greek words--that for child and that for leading. It is the art of helping young people to completeness. For the Christian, this means that education is helping a young person to be more like Christ, the model for all Christians."
Cathedral, as a school living Holy Cross values, helps 'a young person to be more like Christ' through spirituality, service, and the lifelong connections our students form with each other and with our faculty.
